DocuSphere - How work flows

Image Integration Systems completes “proof of concept” project on Oracle Fusion Middleware

Demonstration Project Integrates DocuSphere® Workflow with Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Accounts Payable Application

Perrysburg, Ohio. November 9, 2007. Image Integration Systems, Inc. (IIS), a Certified Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork, today announced the successful completion of Oracle’s Fusion Middleware “proof of concept” project, which integrates the IIS DocuSphere® products with the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP platform. IIS has successfully developed and tested, DocuSphere Workflow on Oracle Fusion Middleware, to further automate the exchange of business process information with JD Edward EnterpriseOne applications.

For IIS customers and prospects, this reinforces the IIS commitment to the Oracle Applications, and insures a cost-effective integration path to future versions and new applications for both IIS DocuSphere workflow and document management products and Oracle’s application products.

DocuSphere 3.6 has previously been certified and validated for integration with JD Edwards World and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.11 SP1 through the OPN Application Integration Architecture for Partners Initiative. IIS is currently working with 8.11 and 8.12, the latest versions of EnterpriseOne. The IIS DocuSphere Workflow and DocuSphere Content Manager products for business process improvement are being used in scores of Oracle customer organizations by thousands of customer employees.

Oracle Fusion Middleware is a pre-integrated portfolio of software, with a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that spans from portals and process managers to application infrastructure, developer tools, and business intelligence. SOA is a collection of services that communicate with each other, for example, passing data from one service to another or coordinating an activity between one or more services. A major focus of Web services, which implement SOA, is to make functional building blocks accessible over standard Internet protocols that are independent of platforms and programming languages.

In the POC, IIS used the Fusion Middleware SOA Suite BPEL PM Module to integrate DocuSphere with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.11 via web services. In this proof of concept, DocuSphere Workflow is used to gather Accounts Payable non-PO invoice information, process approvals and GL coding, and submit a request to BPEL PM via web services to create a voucher in EnterpriseOne. EnterpriseOne receives the request through the Web Services Gateway, where the published ProcessVoucher Integration Point has been exposed, and creates the voucher. Subsequently a response is sent back, through the BPEL PM module, to DocuSphere with the relevant voucher information.

Fusion Middleware will be a standard platform for creating integrations to all Oracle products via web services, extending the integration options available for third-party, value-added products, including future DocuSphere releases. While the IIS project was done with EnterpriseOne Accounts Payables applications, the results establish the web services framework that will be productized and extended to other Oracle application families, such as Oracle E-Business Suite, JD Edwards World and PeopleSoft.

“We are very pleased to have been invited by Oracle to participate and work with them on this Fusion Middleware proof of concept initiative”, said Bradley White, President of Image Integration Systems. “The successful results demonstrate IIS capabilities and knowledge of Oracle’s Fusion Middleware and the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP platform, further strengthens our commitment to Oracle products and provides our Oracle ERP customers with secure paths to future Oracle and DocuSphere product functionality.”
