IRVINE, Calif. (March 9, 2004) -- Kofax, the world’s largest information capture vendor, today proudly announced that the company and two of its Certified Solutions Providers (CSPs), Image Integration Systems (IIS) and Ktech Corporation have been honored by Business Solutions magazine with Channel Connections awards for innovative applications. The two honors, a top award and a runner-up for another award, were presented at Advanstar’s AIIM 2004 Conference and Exhibition, the premiere event for enterprise content and document management being held in New York City from March 8-10, 2004.
Kofax and IIS received the top award for Innovative Document / Content Management installation along for an information capture solution at Turner Industries, an $850 million company and the largest privately owned industrial construction and maintenance organization in Louisiana. In addition, Kofax and Ktech were recognized as runners-up for the Innovative Government Installation award for their work with the Oil Conservation Division of New Mexico’s Department of Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources.
“Kofax is proud to receive multiple awards and recognition from Business Solutions, a leading publication in our industry, and to share that recognition with two of our Certified Solutions Providers,” said Rick Murphy, president and CEO at Kofax. “These honors reflect Kofax’s commitment to our more than 1,100 channel partners and the terrific relationships that enables us to work together to produce award-quality solutions.”
Innovative Document / Content Management Top Award
The Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based Turner Industries implemented the IIS DocuSphere® imaging and workflow system with Kofax Ascent capture to centralize the processing of as many as 15,000 invoices each month. According to Bradley White, President of Image Integration Systems, a Ohio-based developer and provider of comprehensive document management and imaging solutions, Turner needed faster and more complete access to vendor invoices and support documentation as well as the capability to send these documents to its clients electronically. Turner addressed these issues with a solution comprised of DocuSphere from IIS and Ascent Capture from Kofax.
“Through the integration of our innovative DocuSphere technology with Kofax’s industry-leading document capture solutions, we helped Turner significantly reduce overhead, cut the number of full-time positions required for processing invoices, eliminate costs associated with replacing lost documents, and slash filing, printing, copying, mailing and faxing costs,” White said. “Kofax and IIS achieved a true success story. It used to take Turner as long as 57 days to match vendor invoices and receivers, a process that had to be completed before Turner could invoice its clients. Now, Turner can do all matches in eight to nine days, which has dramatically improved its cash flow management.”
Innovative Government Installation Runner-up
The Oil Conservation Division of New Mexico’s Department of Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources regulates oil and gas and geothermal activity in the state. The amount of paperwork supporting the state’s oil and natural gas wells was becoming too overwhelming for the Division to manage effectively, and regulatory changes required quicker access to documents. Ktech Corporation, a technology solutions provider based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, designed an application to effectively manage the Division’s paper-intensive library, which included Ascent Capture and VRS technology from Kofax as the front-end capture components for the new system.
“We had a great technology partnership with Kofax in developing a system that significantly improved the Division’s capability to manage available information,” Mike Robson, [title] at Ktech Corporation. “Equally important, there is now a system that meets regulatory requirements and the general public can easily use to access the agency’s complete repository of documents.”
