Effective integration of business process automation systems and ERP systems will vastly improve the return on investment of both the ERP and the workflow systems. Achieving that effective integration when there are multiple ERP systems and locations can be a challenge. IIS has successfully accomplished this for a number of our clients. Take for example a large multi-national automotive supplier. From multiple acquisitions, they had acquired manufacturing plants and systems from several different ERP vendors. IIS used DocuSphere Content Manager, Workflow and ERP integration modules to bring these systems and information together, making DocuSphere the common point of access. Our certified JD Edward’s integration and Workflow Agent modules allows them to bring various Accounts Payable and Billing data into a common system that can be used by the enterprise world-wide. While their goal is to eventually unify these ERP system into a single vendor solution, DocuSphere allows them to achieve process efficiencies in these accounting functions while they move methodically towards consolidation. Improved payment efficiency has permitted them to realize prompt payment discounts and negotiate better supplier terms. Their Billing functions now have access to billing data for research and inquiry, regardless of which ERP system generated the billing data. In addition, we were able to covert data from an older content management platform and consolidate this information into DocuSphere, further reducing the costs to support business critical information.
Another of our customers has grown through acquisition, including a significant new operation with SAP. Their current ERP is a JD Edward’s system, integrated with DocuSphere, and their new enterprise-wide ERP system is SAP R/3. After careful consideration that included looking at several possible solutions, they chose IIS to implement DocuSphere Content Manager and our DocuSphere SAP ArchiveLink solution. Certified for SAP, DocuSphere ArchiveLink allows a standardized integration with all SAP applications. Beginning with Accounts Payable we developed a plan to move them from their current environment to the new system. The immediate focus of the project was to replicate current JDE and DocuSphere functionality in the SAP environment. Phase 2 will add additional functionality with DocuSphere Workflow integrated with SAP workflow for seamless processing of all accounts payables transactions. Included in Phase 2 is the implementation of advanced OCR capture of vendor invoice data – with which IIS is very familiar. Our ability to quickly move them into the new SAP environment provides this client with the immediate benefits of DocuSphere’s faster, cheaper and better transaction processing, and will serve as the platform that benefit them well into the future.
